Bonjour my Sail-Boating friends!
This week in the race was extremely stressful! Maria was seasick, so I had to do EVERYTHING!!! This is what we did in the race. First we had to fly from Hawaii to Berlin, Germany. We, (or should I say "I") got the best flight! Next we had to find the Ulm Munster church, which is 161.53 meters tall, and it has 768 steps! Wow! Then, we had to build a minature version of it using cubes! After that we had to watch a video about King Ludwig ll, and find out what the castle he made was called, and what movie it was in. Next we had to drive REALLY fast on the Autobahn! Fun!!! We then had to find the main ingredients to make a black forest cake, they were: chocolate cake, cherries, whipping cream and alcohol! Then I had to eat a big piece, but I ate it in three bites, so it was no big deal! Don't worry, it had no alcohol! It was delicious! We had to find out what "Checkpoint Charlie" was. It was a long wall separating West Germany from East Germany! Then, with 2 minutes to spare, I made it to the pit-stop at The Hotel Konishof. Now, Maria is feeling better, and we are on a tour of the real Black Forest, which is what the cake Black Forest cake it named after! That's all for now!
Good Sailing,
Rachel Dubois
